<p>If you’re in the top 10% of some fancy shmancy private prep school that only admits people that are destined for top 20 colleges, then that’s a lot different than being in the top 10% of Neighborhood Public High.</p>

<p>AND it also depends on what school you’re applying to. For the elite ones, they would much rather see someone ranked 4/300 than 20/300. But other things factor in too, as stated above.</p>
