Does Carleton Admissions keep track of students that go to local receptions?

Well, do they?

I think so. I attended one and we had to sign in when we walked in. It’s a way of showing interest, which MIGHT bump you up at decisions time. Maybe.

Yes, they keep track both who is invited and who attends. That info is listed with all the contact the college has had with you, both directions.

As an alum admissions rep, it’s nice for me to know what contact a prospie has had. If you’ve been to campus I can talk about different things in an interview. If you’ve been to a local event, I know you’ve gotten a chance to meet some alums, pic up literature, etc.

They pretty much keep track of all contact you have with the college.

I can’t find information on these.

^ If you sign up for their mailing list (there’s a form on their website), they’ll send you invites to receptions in your local area. For example, I live in the SF Bay Area, where the alumni club sets up a lot of them.

Hey Birdhouse - Are you going to one this weekend?

^ Nah, I don’t think I’m attending Carleton either.
