Does Carnegie place emphasis on SAT II's?

Do they put a lot of emphasis on the SAT subject tests?

Thanks.

I doubt it… I did really well on the ones that I took (lit- 790, writing-790) but I only took two, and they were both english; im fairly sure that they require more than that.

Yeah, make sure you check the website for which SAT II’s they require.

As for how much emphasis they place on them - not a lot. Recently they’ve been making a big deal out of how they’ve rejected x people with 1600’s, rejected y valedictorians, etc., just to show that stuff doesn’t make or break you. They do place a lot of emphasis on recommendations and essays, far more than they do on SAT I or II. It’s the subjective stuff, the stuff you can’t put into numbers, that they look for.

They want math SAT II’s - DS has done two others, we may just bag it, too many other schools don’t have these requirements, I honestly think they’re all getting carried away with themselves.

The school of architecture places alot of emphasis on SAT IIs, as they have found that the resaults are good predictors of a students success. I dont know how much this goes for other schools, but I do think that they look closely at whichever SAT IIs, as well as SAT Is apply to whichever college it is that you apply to.
