does columbia take Pell Grant money directly?

I know many schools take the money and if something is left over, they will send you a check. The problem is that from columbia 50K tuition, room, and board nothing will remain. So my question is, even though they pledge to meet students' full need, will that consume 100% of pell grant and not leave you with money for even books, etc?

Does anyone have any kind of experience with this?

Loans, perhaps?

My question was not whether there were any other options of getting aid. My question was whether pell grant would be part of their "full need" commitment. Are you blind? are you too lazy to read/write?

There is no way a Pell Grant will cover 50k tuition. You get supplemented by Columbia grants and they always take into account 800$ or so (the exact number is on the financial aid webpage somewhere) for books and often times more money for travel, etc. You may get a refund from them.

In any event, call the fin.aid office. This is a dumb place to expect an accurate answer.
