Does Commitment Deposit affect one’s application for federal financial aid?

If the school does not guarantee to meet full need, sure, you can ask for more, but don’t expect to get much. Colleges are facing some rough financial times right now.

Most schools that don’t meet full need for all students do gap aid for the vast majority of accepted students applying for aid.

Did your child commit to attending this college already (asking because of the title of the thread)? If so…either be prepared to pay what they send you for a bill or have her decline the acceptance.

And remember, the college is under no obligation to provide you with one additional dime of financial aid. At all.

And regarding this being late…what is the date for committing to attending at this college? May 1, or has it been bumped to June 1? It’s April 18.
