does community college help SAT II prep?

I am planning to take community college classes at mount sac over the summer. The two choices I have in mind are general chemistry and physics because I’m interested in those subjects. I was wondering though how rigorous the courses are at CCs and if taking the classes there can help prep for the SAT II physics and chem subjects. Do CCs cover and teach enough?

i was going to take courses at mt.sac too, but if you look at the course description, they’re just general physics and don’t really cover anything (same with rio hondo)

however, PCC offers different physics classes (like 1 is mechanics, 1 has optics, thermal and waves, etc.)

you can check pcc’s site and just sign up for classes that cover the SAT II physics material (pretty much the same as physics B material, mechanics, E&M, thermal, fluids, waves, optics, nuclear/modern)

Any studying helps. Going to CC will be more expensive than taking it in HS, though and buying a study guide.

the SAT Subject Tests are designed to test your knowledge on a HIGH SCHOOL level. Why you think a CC course is going to cover LESS than a high school course is beyond me.

my school doesn’t have an ap chem or ap physics sadly. We only have integrated science honors which teaches us a little bit of each subject, which is basically nothing. Therefore, I don’t know any subject in depth. How tough are those classes anyways? anyone with CC experience know how well they teach and cover the material? PCC is too far for me

bump can someone answer my second question?

i’ve never taken a CC course, but from what i’ve seen from the course descriptions, “general physics” at mtsac is nothing but a class for people in HS/CC that want to earn enough science credits to pass (the class teaches like how physics has to do with the earth or something like that)

but the one at PCC is different
