does cornell care about the writing section?

im going to to apply to cornell, however, does cornell care about the writing section? cuz i do pretty bad on this part!

Yes. It might help if you used proper grammar and spelling.

The OP just got owned.

Apologies if that was a bit harsh, but if you are finding the critical reading and writing sections of the standardized tests difficult – for whatever reason, a good place to start would be practicing skills like grammar and spelling in everyday situations. Like this forum.

cuz i certainly sound alotta less smart wen i talk like this

Of course they care about the writing section. If you’re not good at writing, then WORK to become better at writing. It’s as simple as that. It’s not just for college, it’s going to carry you a long, long way in your life if you can thoughtfully and eloquently articulate your thoughts and arguments.

I heard from a few Cornell adcoms that they don’t look at it very much like some schools do(like UC’s), since it’s so new and somewhat unreliable. Of course, they’ll still see your writing score, so getting a low 500 or under probably wont help.

its always great to have a good writing score but i feel that its not as important as the other two sections. the writing section was my worst section. I only got a 610 on it =T.

idk how much Cornell cares about it but I know from experience that the writing section is all about practice. If u practice enough, u can easily get 700s even if u barely speak english…
btw, it barely has anything to do with your real writing skills.

haha yea the writing section is the easiest score to improve through practice.

Yeah, I’m not sure either, but practicing everyday will definitely help
