So I know Cornell only uses M+CR for the SAT on a 1600 point scale. Do they use all the sections of the act?
They do ask for all of them, so it’s safe to assume that they use them all. I’m thinking that they place more importance on the sections that are the most applicable to the college and major you are applying to. I got in to the Engineering school despite having weak reading and essay scores (27 and 6/12), but had high science and math scores.
So if I apply to CAS for Biology I should presumably have high science scores? I took a practice test and scored a 35, but science was my weakest subject. I think I’m going to take another because it doesn’t seem right that I scored that high.
Science is not science at all. It’s mostly just graph interpretation. I got a 15 on science in seventh grade, but junior year I got a 35, but it wasn’t because I learned more about the subject. If you’re fast at tracing your pencil to the graphs and tables, you’ll do well.
@Gatortristan Science is mostly regurgitating information read, but the time crunch can be straining.
