I never took a visual arts class and I want to apply to CSU San Bernadino… My grades aren’t fantastic so my GPA wont be able to compare to lack of a missing credit… What do I do???
No, creative writing is not a VPA course. You can take a VPA course at a community college or your HS this summer or you can take a VPA course at your HS Senior year since i am assuming you are a Junior? As long as you meet all the a-g course requirements by end of Senior year, you will be fine.
Remember, that it must be a full year graded course:
AP ArtHistory.
1 year ceramics,
1 year drawing and painting
1 year Marching Band,
1 year violin
1 year drama
Needs to be “seen” or “heard”
A slightly different answer from me… maybe. Each CA high school submits courses to UCs for consideration so, it depends how your Creative Writing was classified. If the flavor of all of the assignments was to write and put on a play or, to write poetry and read it aloud in front of a group, it could qualify.
You need to look up your school and the class at the above link.
Assuming you are a Jr, you can take a qualifying class this summer or next year, or take one at a CC.
