Does direct deposit of scholarship money/left over financial aid cost money?

I’ve looked at my fees, and I was suppose to have around 400 left over. But I’ve got charged for a ach direct deposit refund for some 300? I requested a direct deposit. And is that what’s making me pay 300? Can I change it?

Please explain. Are you saying you are being charged $300 for direct deposit? Something isn’t right. That usually has no fee.

My daughter’s school gives three options for an overpayment - a deposit onto a debit card the school set up, a direct deposit into a private account she designates, or a cut check. It doesn’t cost anything to deposit onto the debit card, but there is a charge when you use the debit card ($3-4, I think), so we won’t use that.

You shouldn’t have been charged $300 for the ACH deposit, but you might have to pay a user fee if you use their debit card.

@thumper1 @twoinanddone‌ As far as I know, yes. I looked at my school’s online tuition history, and a simple break down goes like this…

tuition+mandatory fees+math fee= $3,923
ACH Direct deposit refund= $341
Grants+Scholarship=$4,355

Due to the student: $90

that means that the ACH direct deposit refund costed me the $341? Right? Or are they just holding on to it. Because it states that the school only owes me $90… any clues on what to do?

To me that reads that they deposited $341 into your account and they still owe you $90. They may have kept that $90 in case there were other fees that came up.

Check your account and you should see a $341 deposit.

I read it the same way…they deposited $341 into your account and owe you an additional $90.
