Does DS qualify as dependent?

<p>This topic has surely been covered in the past. In the year in which your child graduates college (presumably in May), does s/he qualify as your dependent for tax purposes? Does it depend on in which month s/he begins to work and support him/herself? Is there a simple answer to this? Thanks.</p>

<p>I think there was a post on this a few days back. I think they had to be a student for 5 months of the year to qualify as a dependent.</p>
