Does ED matter that much?

Haverford is my dream school, but I am unable to apply ED due to financial reasons. Is this that big of a deal? How can I communicate that this is the only place I want to go without applying early?

Thanks!

If you’re very qualified AND the admissions office thinks you’re a good fit then I don’t think it should matter much. For everyone else, then I think there is some advantage but probably not much of one.

Why don’t you write to Jess Lord directly and ask? Or, write a sincere letter expressing what you mentioned here and submit it with your RD application? I’m pretty sure such things make an impact cause it shows maturity and confidence.

… there’s nothing in his background to suggest unapproachable. He was even quoted in a recent national article on the topic of parents paying $$$ for college counseling and he said, “Save your money… if you have a question, I can answer it for free…”

You may also want to search the Admissions webpage as this seems like a question that has been asked before and there may be an official response already written.
