Does everyone have their own talent?

<p>Lets get some opinions on this. What do you think? Is it true that every person on earth has his or her own intrinsic abilities? Or is talent confined to a select few?</p>

<p>(We do not limit talent to singing, acting, or mental ability only, by the way. Talent includes all that makes one exceed in one thing without relatively great investment or effort that others would normally put in.)</p>

<p>I’ve heard that talent is 99% hard work, & I suspect that’s quite true. It’s not so much a “gift” as a love, a propensity for doing that just that one thing, over & over. I also read that it might have something to do with physical characteristics, like big enough hands for piano etc. It seems to be a combination of those things.</p>

<p>I should have added that I believe strongly in each person’s unique capabilities. What one is best at depends a lot on how one enjoys spending a day, for instance. But great “talent” absolutely requires dedication & enormously hard work. What you might see as “talent” is never actually easy. It just depends whether one thinks of it as “work” or a thorough compulsion.</p>

<p>Perhaps. I had mine since forever, but didn’t really consider it a ‘talent’. </p>

<p>My talent is reading and writing. I can read books rather quickly, (three good-sized books per day) and I write stories that my friends find engrossing. My talent may not be very useful (or interesting :P), but it’s what I enjoy most- reading great stories and writing my own.</p>

<p>Think of the one thing you enjoy doing more than anything else in the world (and hopefully, are good at). That’s most likely your talent. Maybe you’re talented at comforting people, maybe you’re talented at baking… maybe your talent is making people laugh. Talent doesn’t necessarily equal being amazing at sports or being the next Einstein. So yeah, I believe everybody has a talent. It just might not be what they want it to be…</p>

<p>No. Some people are born with no talent whatsoever. Life is cruel and unfair.</p>
