You’ll want to avoid any episode of MasterChef, Great British Bake Off, etc.
Just when you think things won’t get any crazier…
Must be a slow news day; the surrogacy rumours have been dogging them for years.
This might have something to do with it…the trial is scheduled for this month:
This stood out to me:
““There is a a system which is set up,” he continued, “where if you are offered more money as a settlement than you would ever get in court then you’re forced to have to settle so actually there’s no justice for any of these claimants of which now stands at about 1300 claimants.”
Harry has ploughed on anyway, knowing the damages will likely never match the settlement he was offered, which he told Dealbook means “even if or when we win I’m still liable for the legal costs of both sides.””
Her Netflix show is being criticized even before it airs for being inauthentic (apparently she is cooking in a rented mansion, not her own kitchen and is making other people’s recipes) and a copycat of another Brit’s cooking/lifestyle show, Emma Thynn, Marchioness of Bath.
Technically, it’s a copycat of a Brit’s cooking/lifestyle show; Emma Weymouth is British, unlike Meghan.
What percentage of cooking shows are filmed in the chef’s home?
There are numerous cooking/lifestyle shows. Are they comparing it to Emma Thynn’s because she married into royalty and is of mixed race?
I haven’t read anything comparing it to the mixed-race issue but yes to the royalty connection. Also she is beekeeping, as Catherine is known for.
I don’t see this show gathering a huge audience – but I guess time will tell.
I hadn’t seen that, but what I did see was Meghan McCain slamming Meghan Markle’s show for being out of touch with people’s needs and tone-deaf in its financial exclusivity. I never saw a preview so I’d have no idea. I do recall, though, the chatter around her brand’s jam offerings and the suggestion that they may be offered for $300 a jar. If the jam prices are really that high, and McCain’s comments are correct, I think that will seriously harm whatever goodwill is left.
The price quoted in the rags was $250. Or more accurately £200. Regardless, that was long ago debunked as fake news
I hope for her sake that it is fake news. Until she actually markets a product, we don’t know what it will be.
Welp, Emma Thynn is getting tons of free PR (and I have to admit, I would tune into her show).
Is Meghan’s jam still a thing? Can we buy it somewhere? It feels like she teases a launch and it never materializes into anything.

Losing a pet…a loved family member…is never easy.
The video is touching and their daughter’s voice at the end was so cute.
Read that she has another trademark issue there. In addition to USPTO rejecting her initial application for “American Riviera Orchard”, apparently Harry & David own “Royal Riviera” and are protesting.
What is H&D protesting…since American Riviera Orchard was already nixed by the USPTO? Or did they protest upon the initial filing (they should have!)?
If MM asked for Royal Riviera after that, she needs some new business and legal peeps!
I’m not a trademark attorney… just happen to know where to look. The rejection by the USPTO is not a death sentence… the applicant can appeal or refile. There are some applications still pending per my cursory search.
Right, I think they have 3 months from the date of the USPTO trademark rejection to appeal, and looks like she requested a 3 month extension to get things together. But after that she will be at ground zero. I would be surprised anything with Riviera gets approved because of the Harry and David existing trademark in the same food stuffs space…but I only have (non-attorney) trademark/naming experience in pharma so what do I know
Meghan McCain likes to criticize people for trading on their family name and being out of touch with normal people. Which is a spot-on accurate description of herself.
Sorry, an heiress complaining that some other rich person is out of touch only makes me chuckle. Meghan Markle at least grew up middle class and normal, not as the child of incredibly wealthy parents who didn’t even know how many houses they owned.
