Did you all see Kris Jenner’s 70th birthday bash? I just read an article that on her Instagram, there were pics of her and Harry and Meghan. But those have since been deleted! I wonder why?
I think Kris looks fabulous. Most of those pics have a lot of filters. I saw one with her BF, more of a natural pic with natural lighting. Still looked amazing, but not 35 like those party pics. More like a really good 50 maybe?
I’ve read several bits about the deleting of the pictures. It’s sounds odd and sketchy. Why invite them and pose for pictures with them if they would just delete them? Not sure I believe the story.
Meghan is releasing some holiday items on her website. Someone I follow on SM tested a jelly and gave it a thumbs-down. They also received a candle without a wick.
Prince William did a surprise appearance via Zoom on last night’s DWTS (to wish his friend, Robert Irwin, luck).
Although I respect a woman’s right to have plastic surgery, I do think it’s sad that some women resist the trend to age naturally. Kris looks amazing but it’s kind of creepy to realize she’s 70 but looks like she’s 30. Kudos to the female celebrities that rely on good skincare, sunscreen and healthy eating.
It is very odd the deletion. And it’s still all over the internet.
Why is it sad about facelifts? I’ve had a facelift at 64 and feel fantastic. It took 12 years off and I feel like I look on the outside like a feel on the inside. I no longer pull up my Jowls and sigh when I look in the mirror? My husband didn’t want me to do it, but was supportive when I said I absolutely was. He said afterwards it the best thing I’ve done for myself. I’m thrilled and happy.
Now, saying all that, I wouldn’t want to have looked in my 40’s or 20 years younger, because I do think that’s a bit extreme. Just a more youthful older woman. I’ll continue to age, but it won’t be as drastic. The effects of the lift should last me the rest on my life. When I’m 85, if I’m lucky, I might look 75. LOL. Woo-hoo 75.
I also said I respect a woman’s decision to choose plastic surgery - especially if it makes them feel like their best self. I had a pretty major tummy tuck after having kids - best decision ever! I’ve tried Botox a few times but didn’t like the “frozen” feel so I don’t do it anymore.
“Sad” might have been the wrong word to use but I do regret that some women feel outside pressure to maintain a sometimes unrealistic standard of beauty or youth in general (not specifically face lifts). Celebrities in particular seem to get easily addicted to procedures that sometimes end up making them look worse than they did. Kris Jenner found someone who does very nice work.
I get the feeling that Prince Harry isn’t as keen to be hobnobbing with reality stars and celebrities as his wife is.
Also this weekend was Remembrance commemoration ahead of Veterans Day on Tuesday. Maybe PH felt that the look wasn’t right when he is very involved with veterans. The rest of the family was out laying wreaths and attending events related to Remembrance Day. I think that since the UK keenly felt WW1 and WW2, that it’s a bigger event than in the US.
Where it feels like a bank holiday and another big sale weekend (that part is only my opinion and I do want to say that I am very proud for all of those who have served in our armed forces).
It’s only a guess, but if I did have to guess it was PH’s idea that the photos be deleted
Ah, I get what you mean now. I agree, it’s sad that people choose surgery and other enhancement product because they feel the pressure to do so, rather than truly wanting it for themselves.
But I think celebrities do want it for themselves now. Perhaps decades ago when the the studio heads wouldn’t hire them without cosmetic changes. I’m not sure they do that so much anymore. So many actresses have jobs that haven’t had them.
Does someone want to start a plastic surgery thread?
In response to Kris Jenner coming out about her surgeries, Shark Tank’s Barbara Corcoran revealed all of the work she’s had done. To each is own, but what caught my attention in the Cocoran interviews was her motivation. She stated that she did it because guys weren’t whistling at her anymore.
I still think it is sad when these celebrities spend all that money to chase youth and still filter their photos to high heaven. It’s extremely disingenuous. I have a great concern for young women and girls who feed on social media content constantly and are bombarded by such unrealistic beauty standards. I’ll get off my soap box now
I agree with you that the filtered photos look odd and I don’t know why people do it. No one believes that’s how anyone looks, so not sure the purpose.
But as far as cosmetic procedures go, I don’t view most as any different than the braces we all pay thousands for when our kids are well, kids. It’s not their natural state of face. And the majority of people do that to their kids for appearances only and the kids have no say, sooooooo…..
I applaud Pamela Anderson who has embraced her true natural beauty and has been make-up/filter free for a couple of years now. Anyone who follows her SM can see how unburdened and happy she is to have accepted her true self.
I know Kris Jenner isn’t an actress so this doesn’t apply to her, but for the actresses who get a lot of plastic surgery - whether that’s face lift or breast implants or even veneers on their teeth - it can really take me out of an acting performance when they look ahistorical.
Like, people in Ancient Rome or in Dickensian England did not have perfect teeth and boobs and booties.
That being said, Meghan does not appear to have had any visible work done, or if she has, it’s extremely subtle.
M & H’s rep now says that they “checked a box” indicating that they didn’t want to be in published photos and that’s why the pics were removed from social media. But, when you go to Kris Jenner’s bday party attended by Oprah, Beyoncé and Bezos, and then you stand and pose for photos with all of them, how are you going to claim that you didn’t want to be in photos? Come on, now. Personally I think it’s because Meghann didn’t have a poppy on and Remembrance Day is a huge deal in the UK.
I would agree that she doesn’t look like she’s had anything major. She still looks very natural and like herself (looks great, IMO).
Yes, why pose for the photos if she “checked a box”? The poppy theory seems to make the most sense at this point since the British press has grabbed that and run with it. Why not just wear one? Harry wore his so it’s not like it would have slipped her mind.
