Does everyone have their popcorn ready for Harry & Meghan?

If you believe the press, it was before the wedding when Megan insisted Charlotte wear stockings or not wear stockings or something like that, and didn’t seem to to sympathize with a 3 year old acting like a 3 year old.

I don’t think most Americans are overly enchanted with the BRF or royal life in general anymore to necessitate an official commentator - unless there’s a high-profile wedding that’s televised. Harry, via his tell-all book, and he & M’s Oprah interview have demystified many things for those who believe their story.

IMO, William and Kate have taken positive strides, via their social media, to further humanize themselves to the British people and those outside of the UK who do follow the BRF - through family pictures (that don’t appear staged) and Kate’s revelation of her cancer battle and her messages related to that.

It’s a shame that Meghan has been unable to shed the poor opinion that Brits had of her during the whole “Megxit” scandal. As for the Americans, I feel we are moving away from the idolization and glorification of celebrities in general. Many of us didn’t know who she was until we Googled her after the engagement announcement and she hasn’t done much to win us over with her Netflix specials and (staged?) pop-ups during the CA fires. The best strategy for M&H is to fade into the background of Montecito and live their lives as commoners.

I think the major events that he could have provided commentary on are events that he wanted to attend: his grandparent’s funerals, his father’s coronation. Perhaps things will be different when his father passes and his brother becomes king.

He did attend all 3

I doubt it

Sorry, I think I wasn’t clear. The media would have found him a useful commentator for those major events, but he couldn’t do live commentary as an attendee. He also may have avoided saying much after the fact to try to keep the possibility of attending future events open.

There is a possibility that his brother will not want him events after his father passes, much like what is happening to Andrew.

That I doubt. Andrew is a sex offender of underage girls. He clearly won’t be invited to a coronation.

Harry will attend the funeral and coronation, although he likely won’t be attending any Christmas lunches

I wonder if when William is King, he will start slimming down the monarchy by eliminating Harry’s kids Prince and Princess titles (which seem so ridiculous as they are basically American kids). Queen Margrethe did that to her own grandkids!

Margrethe did it to spare Frederik from having to do it, thereby not causing deterioration of the brothers’ relationship. I don’t see Charles as doing it, and if William does it, it will be more ammunition for Harry.

Personally, I think it would have been less disruptive if she had either taken away the HRH, as they did in Sweden, or made the change when they were children (or before they were born), as they did in the Netherlands.
