Entertainment sources told news.com.au the Duchess of Sussex has been offered a role in an upcoming project based in the UK, although further details are yet to be shared.
Strictly Come Dancing?
Loose Women?
I kid, I kid. But the UK entertainment industry does have a lot of really “interesting” opportunities ![]()
I did joke about that earlier in the thread, albeit about Dancing with the Stars. ![]()
Fortunately, this year’s lineup for Strictly was announced last week, and she’s not there.
It’s a safe bet, though, that she won’t be appearing of Piers Morgan Uncensored
Per Deadline, it’s a role in the next season of Guy Ritchie’s show The Gentlemen on Netflix.
Edited to add: Guy Ritchie is a big kahuna in the Oxfordshire/Cotswolds countryside celebscape.
After some deep thought (lol), I like this for her.
Maybe she’ll play a villain or a spy, something cheeky. I’m sure she will have fabulous costumes. Maybe she’ll even poke a little fun at herself.
Has anyone heard that the US government was thinking of revoking Prince Harry’s visa? That’s one of the reasons for the move back to the UK?
I heard that as well. But I chalked that up to there are many UK chatshows and podcasts (and no, I’ve not watched them all) that are running with the Harry and Meghan story and many of them are just spitballing ideas.
There’s also the curious issue of timing as Harry and his other claimants have just been ordered to pay £9.54 million after losing their court case.
I hope that King Charles doesn’t get roped into paying for this. Personally, I don’t think that William will ever forgive him. I think that the feud will last a very long time. I can’t wait to see Meghan have to curtsey to Kate after she is Queen.
I don’t know why it would matter if King Charles pays for it. It’s not like he can’t afford it. His grand children will be closer, his son will be closer. For all we know, he made the offer.
No one has to curtsey, not even the royals. I doubt they will ever happen with Meghan.
I of the opinion that Charles wants Harry and the grandchildren in London for his (Charles’) last years. Charles knows William will not invite them once he is King but if they are there is will be easier for Harry to be included in things now, and for Charles to hope they will continue after his death.
The protocols for bows and curtsies are way more complicated than I realized:
Maybe we spoke to soon.
Today on Substack,Tina Brown, the former editor-in-chief of Vanity Fair and The New Yorker, wrote, “I learned this morning that the casting of Meghan Markle in season 3 of Guy Ritchie’s Netflix series The Gentlemen has been withdrawn. The backlash in the UK was so intense, it became untenable to go forward. This does not bode well for Meghan’s acting comeback in the UK.”
Ouch. That’s gotta hurt.
Kind of amazing that in a family containing Andrew Mountbatten, the British tabloid press still finds Meghan to be so objectionable. Let a lady (er, duchess) have some fun, jeez. If she was crap in the show, then she’d deserve some criticism, but now she won’t even get to try to be fun. Boo.
The taxes and the interest on an $8+mm mortgage have to be brutal.
The NY Post ran the numbers. The mortgage payments alone are estimated at 40-43k per month. I’m not validating the accuracy
This opened for me. I feel sorry for H&M. They dug a hole for themselves and now can’t seem to be able to get out.
He might not have a choice but to come to terms with Harry if he wants to keep up the monarchy’s typical engagement schedule and public presence. The current working royals are getting old, and William’s kids have 10|-15 years before they can be ready for a working role.

H&M have apparently said they’re keeping the Montecito home, and I think that makes a lot of sense they’d want to do that, at least for the time being. They’ll probably want to see how things work out in the UK before making any decision about selling it. Keeping the house gives them a safety net and the flexibility to change their minds if the move doesn’t work out.
As for the NYP story, it’s not a source I would put much faith in. The article seems to be based largely on a rumor within the local real-estate industry. It could simply be wishful thinking on the part of local realtors who would love to get the listing.
Maybe H&M have more money than people think.
I’ve expressed my opinion of the NYP before, so I wasn’t going to belabor it. I just provided a link
