Does everyone have their popcorn ready for Harry & Meghan?

Oh my! What person is?

Perfectionism is a narrow, intolerant expectation that one will never make mistakes or have any imperfections.

I, for one, admired Diana’s immense compassion for others. I neither idolized her for her royal status nor demonized her for her personal, human failings.

It’s probably why I often question the selective outrage directed at Harry and Meghan.

Aren’t monarchists most upset about Harry airing all his grievances?

Can anyone share with me the choosing of Katy Perry to sing/be at the coronation? I don’t know, it seems like an interesting choice. Is she from England - I don’t know that. She has def had some controversy herself ….just surprised at the choice.

Maybe this should have gone in the cartoon thread, but I figured you guys would appreciate it over here. :grinning:

Agree. I just meant (but wasn’t clear!) in her relationship with Charles. The whole dang thing was a sad mess (too bad KC and Camilla couldn’t have just married back in the day).

As I watched KC, I thought how did it go from KC walking Meagan down the aisles at her wedding to the current mess? So sad.

It’s already in the humor thread.

The coronation concert is on PBS at 3pm EST.

IOW, telling the truth about what’s actually happened behind the Royal facade?

They certainly could have if Charles had really wanted to. He didn’t.

She and Lionel Ritchie accepted the invitation. Adele, Ed Sheeran, The Spice Girls, Harry Styles, and Elton John all declined.

Some of that for some probably had to do with schedules . But, of course, for some, just not wanting to do it. I enjoyed the concert, some parts more than others. I really enjoyed seeing Katy Perry, Lionel Ritchie, Nicole Scherzinger, Andrea Bocelli, Steve Winwood. Thought Hugh Bonneville did a great job as host. The concert goers seemed to really enjoy it.

The plot thickens! I find that very interesting. I mean, there could be a conflict on their calendars, but it would seem that the King’s coronation trumps most everything else…unless you didn’t want to go!

Why should the king’s coronation trump everything for a performer? Ed Sheeran, for instance, just started a major tour and was in Texas . He was probably booked well in advance of that and probably had contractual obligations.

I thought the sound was a little off, I really didn’t enjoy any of the singers but I loved the spectacle, the visuals projected onto the castle along with the drones.

Watching right now on a local PBS station. William just came on stage. (Obviously I’m watching a recording.)

Key word in my comment: MOST

I intentionally didn’t say “everything” because sure, a scheduled tour.

I enjoyed many of the performances. I particularly liked Nicole Scherzinger and pianist Lang Lang. I had no idea Nicole was so talented . I just remember hearing about her from Pussycat Dolls ! And Dancing with the Stars. Her song was from Mulan and is already up on You Tube.
