For two equal candidates, would a college accept a transfer who checked no for financial aid over one that checks yes? I know that elite schools are need-blind, but you still have to check yes or no for financial aid on the application itself. Does checking no help your chances of being accepted? (i do realize that i’ll still ahve to pay to attend and i’m still going to check the appropriate box, i just want to know if people who check no have an advantage)

Financial aid is usually federally funded, so I would say the schools really don’t care because it doesn’t affect their bottom line.

It affects international students.
