Does getting C+ in Physics (E&M) mean I'm weeded out?

So, I’m an engineering major and got a C+ in electricity and magnetism. Many say this was a weed out class. Does it mean I’m weeded out and start preparing for a new major?

You passed so you should be OK. If you got a D or F, then I would say you have been “weeded out”.

High GPA gets you the internships, internships get you the job. So as long as you keep your overall GPA high you should be good

I got a C+ in my freshman data structures class, I still got a major in CS. One C+ is no big deal. You should try to make sure you don’t have a transcript littered with B-/C+/Cs but one or two isn’t a big deal at all, everyone understands that no one is perfect and everyone will have trouble with something for some reason. If the E&M is going to be critical to your major (maybe EE but probably not even to much of an extent, can’t think of anything else where it’s especially important) then you should try to get up to speed a bit better on whatever it is that will be needed. Otherwise, as people said, you passed.

Unless you need to apply for your major with a high GPA that the C+ grade drags you below, then no, you are not “weeded out”. You passed, so that is what matters. (However, if you are in electrical engineering, that might not be a good sign for future course work.)

But, as noted above, try to keep the overall and technical GPA above 3.0, as that is often a preliminary screen used by employers to decide whom to interview for internships and post-graduation jobs.
