<p>dd received a glossy catalog with an application inside early of her junior year…Did everyone that applied here get one too?..Does that mean anything do you know, or do they randomly send those out to anyone?</p>
<p>Generally speaking, getting a glossy catalog from any college means that you are on their mailing list, and you will probably get more stuff in the mail. Not an indication of admissions odds in any way.</p>
<p>They can be fun to collect. My favorite is the stuff I got from NYU. U Chicago and Columbia were also nice … it’s interesting though, I never applied to those three.</p>
<p>It means that the test scores and self reported GPA from her SAT testing fell within the range of students WashU is trying to attract. Her scores will push her past the initial number’s check during the application cycle. There will be many, many students, however, with similar scores so the intangibles are what will really make or break her.</p>
