Does going part time hurt my chances to transfer to University of Michigan?

<p>Hey all,</p>

<p>I’m currently going to a michigan community college and I was just wondering if going to school part time would affect the ultimate decision. But, I have to support myself because I live on my own, so really there’s no way around it. I work about 40 to 50 hours a week so I can only take about two classes a semester, but I go all year round; fall, winter, and summer semester. If I described my personal situation in an essay when I finally apply for transfer to University of Michigan, would that help? Or am I doomed?</p>
