Does going to a "bad highschool" considered a bad thing to schools?

i am an international student and I am going to a bad high school. its rating is 5/10, and we have never sent anyone to the ivies or other prestigious schools. i am applying to cornell, mit, stanford, caltech, cmu and more. Would I be at a disadvantage since I go to a bad highschool? my ec’s are good and i am taking more of a community leader role as I recently founded(with the help of others) a math circles that helps kids in our area get better at math, my area is considered an at-risk area for failure in literacy and numeracy. i also have some other leadership type ec’s, so will i be given less consideration, not necessarily rejected, for going to a bad high school.

You are international, so it would be best for you to contact the college directly through an admissions officer to explain your situation as the college may not be familiar with your location’s disadvantages. MIT I believe has a “significant disadvantage” writing supplement in the application I believe, so you could use this to your advantage.

@Foolsgold345 what is considered a significant disadvantage??? im not poor or anything, i live in a safe neighborhood, its just that its dumb… furthermore, in grade 10 the teachers had a strike, therefore discontinuing any school clubs or anything, the repercussions are still being felt today, i wanted to found a math club in grade 10, finally found the oppurtunity in grade 11 2nd semester.
