Careful with affirmative action.
Depending on what school within Hogwarts you apply to, muggle-born parents could be a adavantage or disadvantage

Not unless you’re a squib.

Anyways, my friend told me that it doesn’t accept it, but the application is really easy, since they figure out who belongs there and who doesn’t through dun dun dun MAGIC.

It’s still pretty hard to get in, but the Auror track leads to some of the best jobs only available to HU students.

I’ve heard Giants only need D’s on their Ordinary Wizarding Levels. Half Giants need P’s.

I know, it’s so riddikulus. And stupefying.
But what’s even worse is I heard that goblins, because of the past grievances, get diversity on their side too. And they all do fine on their exams, being goblin (except the practical exams that require a wand).
What a load of rubbish.

10 Galleon Application Fee too much! I need fee waiver!

What an epic thread reboot. How did you guys even find a thread from a little under a year ago?

Haha I noticed it in similar threads and thought it was awesome.

i wrote down that i was the son of a dementor and a goblin.

they told me to withdraw my application to Hogwarts and instead, seek refuge in some dark forest somewhere where people cannot see me.

it’s $hit like this that makes me pine for the old days when Voldy was running things.

Because of affirmative action muggle borns, and Hufflepuffs will have a big advantage in the admission process. Sadly since Ravenclaws, Slytherins, and Gryffindors are over represented they will have a harder chance of acceptance. Muggles have a 1% chance of acceptance so don’t even bother to apply. According to new stats HU acceptance rate slipped to 5% the lowest in history, because of an increase in applications.

Common app, what in Lupin’s blue moon…

I was under the impression HogwartsU works just the same as Hogwarts — if you did well enough in your O.W.Ls and N.E.W.Ts you’d just get a letter. Hopefully early enough to where you could set up your time table with the Headmaster, of course, but you know how things are.

But, you might even need to write a 4 or 5 rolls of an essay. I remember Snape had me do one once. Ah, my hand still hurts thinking about it. God rest his soul.

But I say keep trying. But you probably wont find it here on the internet…

Try sending an owl? I’m sure McGonagall or maybe even the Ministry would know.

RUBHERE?color=white[/color]

If HogwartsU does indeed participate in the common app, would participating in You-know-who’s downfall be considered an extracurricular? I would think that would put me at an advantage.

PS: I’m in love with this thread. :P

Man, I only got 3 OWLS! Maybe I’ll open my own joke shop :D

^^Maybe if you were in the DA. I’m just shaken that they ask for hours per week and weeks per year for extracurriculars. I threw away my S.P.E.W. badge so I really hope they don’t decide to check for proof on what you put down.

I would transfer in a second!!

My D is auditioning for their defense against the dark arts program…she’s deciding between Gotta Get Back to Hogwarts and Voldemort is going down…any opinions on which is better. Also do you know the percentage rate of those who make it into the DADA major program she’s also applying to Pigfarts but isn’t sure. I’m a witch as is my husband and we were all there at Voldy’s last stand but hoping for some advice for this year’s class…oh and she’s a Gryffindor

The starter of this thread wrote" …and I passed my Standardized Owl Test"
Have you considered applying to Rice University? Their Mascot is an Owl.
Think I’m joking? google it and see for yourself.

You guys really need to love your safeties. It’s great you’re all aspiring to HU, but it’s not the end of the world if you don’t get in. There are plenty of other high-quality wizardry schools at which you’d be happy and receive a wonderful education.

Make sure to apply to some of them–I hear Pigfarts has a fabulous honors college. And they’re rather more diverse than HU.

Also have an honest conversation with your parents about money. A lot of kids think their parents have more in the vault at Gringotts than they really do.

^ I agree with quomodo. Yes, HU is in an amazing location and has tons of resources at its disposal. However, not everyone can cut it there.

How accesible is hogsmeade from HU? I heard It has a very nice small-wizarding-town atmosphere but it might not have the resources of a larger city.

Also how accepting is he gay community at HU? I heard they used to have a gay headmaster but then he was murdered by a teacher… probly not the most open place.

does anyone have info about acceptance rates for house elves? I live in a predominantly house-elf neighborhood and I’ve only ever heard about house-elves getting into the hogwarts service school- never the accademic part.

What do you think are my chances of getting into Gryfyndor? I started several secret orginizations based around fighting the dark arts bu I’m worried that slytherin wont look favorably on that

I think it works like this- you send in your applications, and on your 18th birthday they will send you a letter (similar to the 11th birthday, but in this case you need an application). I’ve spoken to McGonogall many times about my future, as a recent Hogwarts graduate, and although I’ve been accepted into many wizarding schools (but not all), I’ve narrowed it down to three: HU, Beauxbatons, and Pigfarts. I will probably not attend Beauxbatons, as the witch:wizard ratio is obviously very, very drastic. Also, I’m not very fluent in French. Which brings me to Pigfarts. Academically, the teaching programs at Pigfarts and HU (I’m interested in becoming a Charms teacher at Hogwarts, and maybe have a double major in Transfiguration) are quite similar, but the distance is what gets me. My family lives in Canada (I’m a muggle-born) so I’m already away from them ten months of the year(excluding Christmas) so I don’t know how they’d feel about me spending another four years in Britain. They’re encouraging a muggle job… no way. Anyway, they’d prefer HU over Pigfarts anyway because at least it’s on the same planet. At this point, my apparating skills aren’t quite good enough to get me to Mars, or I’d seriously consider going. And with today’s economy, I’ll never be able to afford a rocket ship. So I’ll probably go with HU- wow, decision made! I’ll go send them my owl right away :)
