Does Hogwarts University take the common app?

Though I would love to attend Pigfarts, I feel that being vice president of the Gobstones Club isn’t quite enough to get me in. Maybe I should try to transfer there after I spend a year at HU brushing up on my interplanetary apparation skills. I think Rumbleroar would approve.

Sorry, what’s Hogwarts University? Where is it, haven’t heard of it before… sounds New Englandish?

I’m applying to HU via owl. It’s unlikely I’ll get in, however. I got a T in Arithmancy, for Wormtail’s sake, so I might has well just not even try. Boarblisters is really taking my interest, though! They have an outstanding Ancient Runes program; it almost rivals that of Pigfarts. I received an O in Transfiguration, three E’s (Ancient Runes, Charms, and DADA), a few A’s (Arithmancy, Potions, Herbology, Muggle Studies) and then a T in Care of Magical Creatures (I accidentally killed a skrewt…long story)

Does anyone have any tips for making my application stand out? I was also president of the Young Charmers and treasurer of my class (Crowtalon).

@GradeEasyPlease: England, not New England. Seriously, have you even opened the Fiske Guide to Universities of Witchcraft and Wizardry?
@hollyandphoenix: Sorry about your Ts. Those really will hurt your chances. You’re Care of Magical Creatures grade shouldn’t make too much of an impact as CMC grading is highly inconsistent between schools and a poor indicator of success in the wizarding world, but Arithmancy is much more important, especially for someone entering a degree program in Ancient Runes (I am assuming this is your intent). Good luck, but don’t try too hard to stand out. Be sure a factor is in your favor before emphasizing it on your application. For example, don’t mark your ethnicity if you are a pure blood. This would have been vital when You-Know-Who was in power, but now can be seen as a drawback as HU focuses on diversifying their student body.

I’m afraid that as a highly selective institution, Hogwarts U has it’s own application, the Sorting Hat App which you can request on their website: www.uofhogwarts.mom.edu

Have you considered applying to Rice University? Their Mascot is an Owl.
Think I’m joking? google it and see for yourself."

Emerson College has its own Quidditch team. :)

Are you a UMM? I attended Hogwarts for primary school (class 2012), and a fellow in Hufflepuff was admitted to HU. His stats were horrific, mostly Es on his NEWTs, and he even got a D on Herbology! HERBOLOGY. I suspect he got in because he is part-■■■■■.

If you don’t get in, I suggest you try the Salem Witch’s Institute. They have an excellent program, but it’s all girls. They’re willing to overlook a couple of Ps.

Bump - Before you submit the common app, I’d write a letter to the headmistress, Prof. McGonagall, asking if you would be accepted. Hopefully she hasn’t retired, this is her 13th year already. I know of a girl who wrote a letter to the headmaster at Hogwarts and he didn’t let her in. But it’s a good thing she asked first, because she would’ve her money.

That was 40 years ago though. The good news for you is that there have been big changes at Hogwarts, so McGonagall or whoever is headmaster, might let you in based on new policy.
