Does IB prepare students for college significantly better, or is it just more work?

IB scores are curved worldwide (at least they were), so that is a significant difference. Everyone taking an AP test can get a 5. Not true for IB.

Also, your IB “score” for a class consists of additional requirements other than just the exam.
