Does IDOC Verification Request signal an acceptance at NYU?

Hi, I’m an NYU ED2 International Applicant. I submitted all my financial aid documents (as in, the CSS Profile) on time and to a high degree of accuracy. However, I haven’t yet received an IDOC request. I’m concerned because some people ik have received it and they’re telling me that an IDOC request signals an acceptance/deferral/waitlist and not receiving one signals a rejection. I have a 1530 SAT score and an efc of 17k per annum (idk why I’m sharing this but yeah). Does this mean I’ve been rejected? I’m aware every college has varying policies as to who they request an IDOC from, so I wanna know what it’s for NYU. If you were admitted to NYU as an intl, did you receive an IDOC request? And is the opposite also true?

I’m sorry I’m just really anxious rn cuz NYU is my dream school. Should I email the fin aid department telling them I haven’t received an IDOC request?

How did you know your EFC based on CSS profile? I could be wrong but only FAFSA provides a SAI (equivalent of EFC).
Regardless, with an EFC of 17K you should not have high hopes from NYU, unless of course you have outstanding academic records (not just SAT score) and the college “needs” you.
Can’t speak on speculation regarding IDOC request. Good luck!

By efc I meant the contribution from my family (there is a space on the CSS Profile that allows you to input that). Imma try NOT to get my hopes up and as a low income intl you SHOULDNT have nyu as ur dream school :sob: but js trynna know what this idoc request thing means lol.Tysm anyway!!

I don’t think there’s a connection between an IDOC request and acceptance, at least based on this page:

The NYU acceptance rate for international students who need significant aid is likely in the low single digits. I say that not to be negative, but in hopes that you can temper your expectations and NYU’s ‘dream school’ status in your mind.
