Does it look bad if...

…for my teacher recommendations I use the same subjects that I am taking my SAT IIs in? I am planning on taking Math I or II, Spanish w/o Listening, and Literature…and I’m going to ask my English, History, and Spanish teachers from this year (I’m a junior) for recommendations…and I probably won’t end up using the history one.

Do you think that colleges would think that would mean I only care about those subjects/I am only good at those subjects?

No. It won’t look bad or make a difference.

I think generally that would be the case, as you take SAT IIs in the subject you like most and prepared best for, so naturally you would do great in the class too and would expect a good rec from the teacher.

So in my view most student actually get the rec from the teacher of the subject they take SAT II in.

um, usually kids get recommendation from teachers that they connected with and that is usally subjects they like

its a strange question and to think it would be bad somehow is odd

why do you think it would be a bad thing?

I don’t know, I just thought it would look like I was only good/interested in a couple subjects

You people are unusually paranoid these days. Most times the question is “do you think it is bad if I get all my recommendations from the same department”
