Does it matter that I didn't put my middle name on my college application?

<p>My middle name is my mothers maiden name and I was worried that it would be confused with my last name so I didn’t put it. The application asked for a full middle name and the question was optional so I left the middle name space blank. Does that matter?</p>

<p>The important part is using the same name on all of your documents. It is very confusing when an applicant is referred to as Jane Doe-Smith on some school records, then Jane Smith on others…keep it consistent.</p>
