So I got a 1990, I wanted a 2000. Obviously, I have to re-take this test. However, I’d never planned on taking it more than once, does it look bad if I take it twice, perhaps even three times? My goal is 2200, can I study enough to reach that goal by the march sitting?

Though it seems like taking it multiple times would matter, in the long run, it really doesn’t. Every college I know of superscores (takes highest score in each section from every test you send them), and some colleges allow you to use score choice (though not all colleges do, it’s kind of pointless seeing as EVERYONE superscores anyway). My advice to you based on my testing would be to try again this year and then to take it once more in your senior year. Scores tend to creep up overtime, even if you’re not studying, because honestly you’re just getting smarter, accrued knowledge, etc.

Anyway, I suggest you ask around, ask some seniors you know, talk to your college counselor. See what they say!
