WHen you get to the top tier schools, such as Duke, Cornell, Stanford, Harvard etc…does it matter which majors you pursue? Couldnt u get a great education in any field at any of these scools?

Probably. But you can get a great education anywhere, even at a (gasp!) state school. It’s all about how you fit with the school and how the school fits with you.

Right on the money pearl girl!

It depends on what you are trying to do afterwards.

Law schools don’t care about your major in the least; medical schools care very little; employers care somewhat (they hire disproportionately from those with strong economics, public policy, and engineering backgrounds); graduate schools, of course, care a great deal.
