Does Lehigh athletics have any pull in admissions?

Hi all,

I couldn’t find this information anywhere, so I figured that I would post it here on CC. I am very interested in Lehigh among my other schools, but I wouldn’t be able to get in with my grades. I have reached out to the rowing coach and sent him my academic information to get a “pre-read,” but I was wondering if someone out there could tell me if athletic teams have “slots” they place their athletes in, etc.

I’m almost positive Lehigh does have admission “slots” but I’m sure it varies from sport to sport. For rowing, would it have any pull?

Thanks in advance! I really appreciate it.

Lehigh is part of the Patriot League which has the following as their [Mission Statement](http://www.patriotleague.org/ot/mission-vision.html):

That being said, coaches will probably only recommend individuals that meet minimal academic standards for the institution. They want you to be successful both on and off the field. It doesn’t benefit you if you’re struggling academically while trying to hold up to your responsibilities to the team.

Yes, coaches can definitely get kids in at Lehigh but I don’t know about rowing because it is only a club varsity sport, not a full varsity sport.
