Does loomis chaffee or deerfield offer financial aid for family weekend?

hi my kid has financial aid. does any one know if boarding schools like loomis or deerfield offer financial aid for parents to atend family weekend?

Interesting question, and not unreasonable given the cost of hotels that weekend.

I do know of one school that covers some things outside of tuition. For instance, if a student qualifies financially to attend for free, they may also be given a monthly stipend on account to spend at the bookstore and on campus eatery, so that they can fully participate in the academic and social offerings of the school. I’ve heard of schools offering help with purchasing winter coats for students from warm climates. Perhaps family weekends inspire a similar policy? Though I imagine it would be on a case by case basis. It can’t hurt to call and ask

If accepted to both and both are affordable I’d pose the question directly to the schools.

I don’t know about either Loomis or Deerfield, but I am familiar with some other boarding schools that do help high need families with travel expenses (tickets) for parent’s weekend freshman year and for graduation. Some will also help parents connect with local host families willing to put them up during big campus events.
