Does my gpa disqualify me?

One of my top picks is Columbia but my GPA will only probably be a 3.9 weighted by the end of high school, does this automatically disqualify me?

It depends . . . where are you among your HS peers? What is your rank that is and have you taken most/all the rigorous classes your school has to offer?

im #7 in my class currently, but i’ll probably be in the top five by the end of next (junior) year. I have taken pretty rigorous courses so far -2 AP’s sophomore year/4 Honors Course + Spanish 3 and next year i’ll be taking 4 AP courses/2 Honors Courses and probably 4-5 AP courses senior year.

You are apparently only a sophomore, so it is really too early to be obsessing about this. You are posting so many threads – here and eslewhere – acting as though you are near application season and panicking about qualifications, the concept of perfection, and chances. Really! You are no where near this stage. Just continue to challenge yourself as much as you can, within the context of your school’s curriculum and EC opportunities. And later next year, after you have taken standardized tests, will be a more appropriate time to seek this kind of advice. Otherwise, please get a grip and enjoy high school.

Agree with swingtime. Most kids your age are still enjoying being kids. You will never get these years back. Make them count–and not just for some slim hope of getting into a college that may not even be a great fit for you.
