Does one grade matter?

I had one class that I really struggled in…Trig. I did end up passing but I didnt really do so well. So, my question is, can one grade ruin your transcript. This grade has been eating at me ever since I saw it. Its pretty low and i’d rather not even say it, but I just want to know if one grade can ruin a transcript. It was an honors level course as well.

If it was freshman or sophomore year and you’ve subsequently done well in math, it’s probably not a problem. If it was junior year and that was the last math class you took, it might be reason to sweat. Trig is a pretty low level to flame out in, if you’ve done well in everything else.

I agree, if it was your freshman or sophmore year I don’t see it being a big deal. Just out of curiosity how much worse was it then your typical grades? I have the same sort of situation in spanish. I have always managed to get an A in spanish(although its always been close), but last year I received my first A- :(. It happens to everybody. Best of luck! :)

No.

Period.

One grade is not going to ruin anything for you. That’s the beauty of averages.

However, because Trigonometry is a foundation for much of the mathematics that follows it, you may want to get some tutoring in the parts of it you struggled with, so that those struggles don’t also impact your future grades.

But even if your Trig setback turns into a Pre-Calc setback and beyond, there are many great schools out there for the student who gets Ds in math and As in everything else.

If I could tell everyone on CC one thing and have them automatically believe it, it would be what I am about to tell you:

No matter what has happened, is happening, or will happen, it’s not the end of the world. It all seems much more important than it is.

Adversity is always temporary. I am the poster mascot for that.
