Does PA school care about where you went to undergraduate school?

I was redirected to this forum from the transferring forum because my question is about becoming a PA.

I’m currently a sophomore at St. Lawrence University. After my scholarships and federal aid, I have to take a $5,000 federal loan for every year, and $5,000 perkinson’s loan a year, so altogether that’s $10,000 in loans a year.

My family income is only $18,000 and my dad is unemployed, so it’s hard for us to pay. I want to go to school to be a Physician Assistant after undergrad, but I’m scared about the loans.

So my question is, is it better to just transfer to CUNY Hunter, where I have free tuition?
Also, does PA school care about where you went to school as an undergrad?

Thank you!

Yes, it’s better to take the free ride than to incur $40k in debt. Particularly since you’re going to end up with more debt for PA school.

CUNY Hunter is a fine school.
