I got into Penn early. I’ve recently been inactive in extracurricular activities, not because of slacking off, but due to studying for an online course and studying by myself physics and a language or two. Will they check whether I am still participating in clubs? Or is maintaining my grades good enough?

^no they check, very very thoroughly. They look up EVERY early decision applicant that was accepted, call the school counselor up, and ask for a 10 page report on the things you’ve done since you got accepted.

Oh and they hire a detective to see if the counselor is telling the truth.

ohhh my gosh do they really? im so scared now, i stopped debate this year!!! oh no!

… greg, you’re kidding me right? it’s hard to tell sarcasm over the interwebs but miroku was definitely kidding

You just need to have your final report card sent in. If you’ve kept up your GPA you have absolutely nothing to worry about :)

is GPA more important in the final year report or the actual grades for each subject?

^ Well, the only way a Uni will rescind the acceptance is if you’re failing (or for the pickier Uni’s, if you have anything below a C) a class.

They can’t check anything, except for the status of an admitted athlete.

thanks liberationn :]
just trying to figure out how much i have to work and how much i can enjoy the rest of my senior year haha

^ If you don’t fail any classes you have nothing to worry about. Even if you do, it’s still VERY rare for a school to withdrawal an acceptance. ahhh now I have Journey stuck in my head ;)

@ GoldenDomer – every school I’ve heard of requires a copy of the student’s final grades before they can enroll.

hahahaha i love the song :] but thank you again!

Well, that’s a relief. I’m doing okay in my classes, so I just hope they don’t check whether I am still active in them.
