Does Penn superscore??

does penn superscore for the SAT (im a junior and am thinking about applying next year)

also, what class rank do you think is “safe” for penn… i’m not like top 10 in my class… but still in the top 10 percent im pretty sure… is that okay? and what is a good gpa on 100pt scale… (i currently have 92-93 UW and 98 W) haha okay sorry one more thing… how much would it hurt if i didnt have MOST rigorous courseload checked off but instead VERY rigorous course load? (took regular english 9-11 grade… but switching to ap lit in 12th)

lol sorry i kinda drifted off on this thread but any input would be great thanks

when I went to the information session this past november, the adcom explained that they only look at your highest SAT scores. I wouldn’t say there’s a “safe” rank for any of the ivies, since you could be valedictorian and still not get in. you can go on the penn website to check their stats on SAT scores, and ranking percentages. as for your english class, i took regular english and history during my freshman year and came up to hns & ap my sophomore year. explain why you did that and what you learned from it, and how you “matured” by doing so. if you convince them well enough they might buy it, however you have been down in regular english for so long that adcoms might be skeptical. good luck.

Can anyone confirmed whether UPenn has overrided score choice and require applicants to submit all test scores? A citation would be def. appreciated! And one more thing, how do colleges know if you’re actually sending in all your scores, do they simply believe you - it all sounds dodgy and have loopholes to me…

you think taking regular english for 3 years is really going to hurt me that much?? damn…

well i dont know about hurting you soooo much, but have a good explanation on why you took lower classes and all of a sudden went up. if you dont have a good explanation, their assumption is that it would make your courseload LOOK rigorous for apps.

what if i got a rec from my english teacher this year who LOVES ME/i have like a 100 average and will prob write me a really really good rec (she recommended me for ap lit as well) and the only reason im moving up is because en

…english r is not challenging for me anymore
and what do you think about my gpa… thanks

gpa’s are usually hard to say its safe or not. adcoms take your core classes and average their scores anyway. nd they might also do that with your ap classes separately.
