Does Pepperdine and other private colleges look at unweighted and weighted GPA?

I was wondering if Pepperdine and other private colleges like University of San Diego and Santa Clara University look at both weighted and unweighted GPA? Because I heard someone say Pepperdine only looks at unweighted and the AP course grade bump won’t be calculated at that point. I understand that colleges look at rigor as well.

Also, does Pepperdine consider URM as part of the admission process? Thanks.

Yes in a way. It doesn’t matter if they only look at UW, because they ALL look at course rigor. So that is essentially counting weighted even if they don’t care about the calculation.

Most private colleges look at URM. You can look at the Common Data Set section C7 to see. Pepperdine is not a normal college though because Religious Affiliation is marked Very Important…

@ItsHydro‌ , I am almost in the same boat. But I’m a applying Senior. Same GPA and everything. CS& Math major. I also have a bunch of ECs in CS and alot in Church. What’s your SAT?

I think you could definitely get into SCU

@turqluv oh ok, good luck!!! I take my SAT on March 14th. But do you think we have a good chance? With our EC’s in CS, I think that alone boosts our admission up since the CS department is probably the smallest (least populated) in the school.

Most likely. We should be fine. Your ecs are better than mine. But if you are urm like me, we should get in!

@ItsHydro Only 27 more days until admission decisions come out! Its so long. I super scared. Im hoping for. The best. Just make sure you do well on the SAT and there is no shame in taking it more than once. Also, if you can take community college classes it will look good and boost your GPA alot!
