Does Prestige of Law School Matter

In terms of recruitment and job prospects, do the top 14 laws schools really have much an advantage over say top 30/top 50 schools?

Where have you been? Just read the next 20 threads in this forum and I want to guess that 25% of them answer your question.

The answer is yes with caveats.

A lot of the top 14 law schools do have an advantage of those that only fall within the top 30 or say 50. Though if your talking about the public universities within the top 14 then the answer is no.
Yes, prestige does matter for law school. Example, The University of Iowa law school is prestigous, and your likely to get place in any region of your choice. Though Depual law school is more regional, and your probably set to work in Chicago ( not that it’s a bad city) with a low starting salary.

Of course, law is a very top heavy field.

I know that the top 20 schools will get you paid but let’s say you have the option of going to school in state for 20 k a year at a 60th ranked school or 34k a year at a 40th ranked school. I’m just curious what the pay off would be
