Does PSU look at SAT writing?

I am a junior in high school and PSU is currently my top choice.

I have heard that some schools do not consider the writing portion in their admissions decision. This would be bad for me since writing was by far my best section.

Writing: 680 Math: 580 Reading:560 =1820

Any info would be greatly appreciated

Penn State looks at the SAT out of 2400, so that would be all 3 areas. For the ACT, they require the ACT WITH writing, so they definitely want to see the writing scores…

Yes, it’s even used for placement!
“ENGLISH COMPOSITION – Your skill in writing, as assessed by the SAT-Writing Test, determines placement in the first-year English composition course. All Penn State degree programs require English composition, and ENGL 015 is the standard composition course. Students with strong preparation may take an honors composition course instead. Students whose SAT-W scores suggest gaps in their writing skills may need some review before taking ENGL 015.”
