Does reporting a lower score with a higher one hurt your chances?

I made the mistake of choosing the four free schools to send my SAT scores to when I registered for it. My score was less than I was hoping for (2090). I later got a 34 on my ACTs and was going to not report the 2090, only to realize it had already been sent. I sent my 34 to my schools but will the 2090 reflect badly on me? (For schools like Duke, Vanderbilt, etc?)

I doubt it will hurt. If they are true to their word, then they should take your highest score. Now if it took multiple attempts to get those scores in a way that you look like a career test taker, that is another story. But if you are submitting one SAT and one ACT score, my guess is that you will be fine.

how many attempts is considered a career taker?

^ that’s for each college admissions officer to decide. My son and most of his classmates limited testing to three attempts.

I only took the SAT and the ACT once each. Thanks!
