I am going to apply for Cornell’s AAP program next year. However, I have to do the SAT and AP this year which I am wondering about the score of SAT and AP. Is AP require to apply for Cornell? And approximately what range of SAT score will they prefer? And would they consider a student whose portfolio is good, but other mark are not so well?

As far as AP goes, AP is not required for Cornell but you should be taking the most rigorous course load available to you. AP scores are not factors for admission; rather, they are used once you get on campus to give you credit or place you out of certain classes.

Thank you for letting me know cause I am having a hard time on the ap courses. And I think I might just do ap calculus. By the way, do you know what kind of portfolio they might appreciate from students?

I unfortunately don’t know much about art or portfolios at all, or much about the AAP application process. There are a few threads already though specifically regarding AAP applications; you may want to ask some people there!

Okay… but what about the score about SAT I and SAT II ?

Well there isn’t a set score that they are looking for, but you should definitely score as high as possible. While your portfolio and fit is super important for AAP admissions, they still most likely will not overlook a terrible SAT score. AAP also requires SAT II in math, either level 1 or level 2.
