Does selecting a particular major hurt your chances of getting in for international students?

As an international student applying for huge aid, does choosing a major like mechanical engineering over computer science or leaving undecided hurt the chances of getting in? I have ‘heard’…just heard ok!! that is so because the demands of meche are less and the lab costs are more. I have made some big projects related to meche during my high school and I am a bit confused because I want to read meche but just don’t want to hurt the chances.

Thanks!

Just applying as an International student requiring financial aid hurts your chances regardless of major. For many schools you do not need to declare a major until Sophomore or Junior year. Apply to your first choice major.

@Gumbymom thanks a lot!
