Does self studying AP's and getting 5's and 4's make up for a weak schedule?

I slacked off in 9th grade so my courses I’m able to take in math and science are limited. Will self studying AP’s and getting 5’s and 4’s on them help schools overlook my weak schedule?

Self studying will help, it shows u have initiative and are smart enough to get it done on your own also if you’re willing to really push yourself hard and ure not yet a senior the AP’s can boost you past your peers.

Ex:

I took Geometry CP (not honors) and Algebra II H my freshman year but to boost I took the AP Calc BC exam (after self-study) and got a 5 which has made my schedule very fluid in picking courses because sophomore year I’ve exhausted math

Now thats an extreme example and i’m not saying skip 3 years of math or do like 10 different AP tests but the point is it can make your schedule easier to handle if you can do well planned boosts of AP’s. Plus to colleges it’ll ultimately be the same case, whether you took the class or self-studied the point is still the same, you can handle the workload.

yes it makes up but you’ll want both.
