Does sophomore year count?

I think I might get 2 B’s this semester (H. Chemistry and H. Pre-calc). I have a total of 4 weighted courses out of 7 classes and one of them being a class meant for juniors. I also play a sport on the varsity level and have been playing an instrument for 9 years. I also have over 100 hours of volunteer (only counted the hours I got from freshman and sophomore years). I could not study as much as I would have liked and ended up getting borderline grades in these two subjects. I got straight A’s last year and was accepted to NHS, but I’m worried sick. Will getting 2 B’s this year affect my chances of getting accepted to an amazing school like UCB?

There are 5 weeks left in this semester (at my school at least). That seems like enough to get it up to an A.

But regardless, two Honors ** aren’t going to be too much of a detriment, especially not for UCB.

Yes, sophomore year counts. Along with your freshman year and your junior year and your senior year.

ALL YEAR COUNT. You must have the motivation to achieve beyond what you do now. I realized it too late but it’s not too late for you.

Amazing on the NHS. At my school only juniors can get in. But still only the top 50 so 50 out of a class of 600… yea that’s a good deal.

9th, 10th, 11th, and 12th count…

None of high school counts. Colleges actually look at your 3rd grade GPA when determining whether or not they accept you into Hogwarts or UCLA or whatever.

Every year counts, some schools value each grade around the same, some care more about junior year. That being said, you sound fine, it is not like you are failing anything.
