<p>which would they prefer? the harder one or the easier one?</p>

<p>With an applicant pool like Stanford’s, Stanford doesn’t prefer either of those applicant types. Stanford prefers applicants who take hard courseloads and still get great grades…</p>
<p>hmmm…wow, i’m a sophomore in high school, and since i’m not going to do engineering, i didn’t know that i should do hl math…</p>

<p>In general, for the most selective colleges, you should aim at the most challenging high school courses you can find.</p>
