Does Stanford School of Medicine accept transfer applicants?

On their website they state: “Stanford no longer accepts transfer applicants to our School of Medicine.”

Does that mean they will only take students who already go to Stanford?

Or do they accept applications from people who already have a degree (Bio, Chem, etc.) and have graduated from their current 4-year university?

…maybe I’m over analyzing this.

Thanks in advance!

The Stanford SOM’s transfer policy refers to students who are currently enrolled in a MD-granting program in the US.

You are certainly free to apply to Stanford (and any other US medical school) when you’ve completed your undergraduate degree and are ready to apply to med school as a first year student. (But be warned Stanford SOM’s acceptance rate is <5%.)
