Does status of your current Uni matter in transfer?

I got accepted to Korea University, which is the 2nd best university in the entire country. It is globally ranked pretty high, so would I have a better chance of transferring to a liberal arts university in america than people from 2 year institutions or community colleges?
I heard that the status of your current university doesn’t matter when transfering.
Is this true?
So would they treat me equally as other applicants if we have the same GPA regardless of our institution status?
Please answer this for me, thank you.

Each college and university sets its own policies about evaluating transcripts from other colleges and universities. There is no way to predict this. Sorry. To find out how each of the institutions that you want to apply to will evaluate your record, you will have to ask each of them separately.

I can tell u that the competition in Korea University is very intenstive
its easier to get a higher GPA in a community college than in Korea University
if you dont mind staying there for all 4 years
Korea U should be ur choice
but if you want to transfer to another college
(say u love America X] )
then I’d suggest u to attend a community college

Also, u have to check the state policy
For example, University of California would consider CA residents and grads of CC in CA first.
(I looked this up somewhere, not 100% sure its right. u may check this)
