I stumbled upon this link on Stern’s website…
http://w4.stern.nyu.edu/uc/newsletter/index.html

It talks about the prerequisite courses required for “financial engineering”…
Does this mean financial engineering is a major/concentration offered at Stern??
Current students, please give me feedback…!

I think its just a course you can take at NYU whose prerequisites changed.

If nyu’s aid is good enough, I’m DEFINITELY that course.

It is a course. It says so in the description… but also I’m 99.99% sure there’s no financial engineering major. I know they have that at Columbia, however.

bump

current stern students, i need feedback
is there such a course called Financial Engineering offered at the undergraduate level?

[NYU Stern Records & Registration | Course Information](http://w4.stern.nyu.edu/registrar/courseinfo.cfm?doc_id=6123)

look at the courses they have offered in the past year.
maybe it goes by a different name

There is NO financial engineering major at Stern undergrad; it is only available as a masters program.

Also, please note that sueinphilly’s link is for graduate courses - this is the undergraduate course syllabi link: [Academic Advising](http://w4.stern.nyu.edu/uc/currentstudents/academics.cfm?doc_id=6124)

I think you might be talking about the trading strategies class here: [Academic Advising](http://w4.stern.nyu.edu/uc/currentstudents/academics.cfm?doc_id=100010)

youkosiren, I kinda figured out that those were graduate courses, so I checked the undergraduate listing lol

Those courses i listed in my previous post, regression & multivariate analysis, Forecast time series etc, are ALSO available at the undergraduate level…though it may not be equal to a “Financial engineering” major, I think those quant heavy courses should be preparation enough for admissions to graduate programs in Financial Engineering (add a math major to those courses)
